The Power of Franchise Re-Sales

The Lasertech franchisee from Stoke has recently demonstrated the benefits that can be gained from purchasing an existing franchise.

Kerry McCaughey purchased the Lasertech Stoke Franchise in March 2006 after it was originally launched in May 2003. Kerry McCaughey contacted Lasertech five years ago about the Stoke Franchise, but ended up moving to Australia instead. After returning to the UK in early 2006 Kerry decided that he was still interested and successfully purchased the Stoke Franchise as a resale.

Exactly 12 months on, he has grown his business beyond recognition and made a tidy sum for himself in the process. His hard work has seen his business expand to now employ two staff with 2 vans and has grown his monthly sales from around £10,000 February 2006 to nearly £30,000 in February 2007!

During the past 12 months his hard work has not gone unrewarded as he recorded a very healthy net profit for the year, not only that, he just about tripled the value of his business!

At the start of March this year Kerry informed Lasertech UK that he has an opportunity to move back to Australia (who can blame him!) and with the franchisors full support, he has put his business back on the market.

The success of his business now means that it will attract the corporate investor as well as an owner operator who will both see the potential to build on Kerry’s success.

“We are fully behind Kerry’s desire to sell his business, although we will be extremely sad to see him go as he is clear proof that Lasertech is an excellent franchise opportunity” commented Martin Hawthorne, Lasertech’s Franchise Recruitment Manager, who is the person helping manage his sale.

Franchise resales are even safer than opening a franchise as you already have access to a client base.

If its a franchise re-sale does that mean that the person running that franchise area has failed. Are you not just buying problems.
